AKCP securityProbe 5ESVA – Modular monitoring for IT and industrial environments

AKCP securityProbe 5ESVA

The AKCP securityProbe 5E is a professional monitoring solution built for server room and data center monitoring. Designed for critical infrastructures such as banks, insurance providers, government facilities, and industrial sites, it combines modular architecture, strong protocol support, and broad sensor compatibility to ensure reliable IT infrastructure monitoring.

Sensor Integration for Comprehensive Monitoring

Equipped with eight RJ45 smart sensor ports, the securityProbe 5E auto-detects connected sensors using AutoSense technology. This makes setup simple and immediate, with live data shown via its web interface. Common sensors include:

  • Temperature sensors for precise climate control
  • Combined temperature & humidity sensors
  • Airflow sensors for cooling optimization
  • Smoke detectors for early fire alerts
  • AC/DC power meters for energy usage monitoring
  • Thermal map sensors for 3D rack hotspot analysis
  • RFID swing handle locks for physical access security

Using E-Sensor8 or E-opto16 modules, expansion up to 500 sensors is supported, making it suitable for large-scale data centers and industrial facilities.

Security and Integration

With optional dry contact modules, the securityProbe 5E easily integrates with building and security systems, including fire alarms, UPS units, and HVAC equipment. Combined with RFID locks, it offers a holistic monitoring and security solution.

Alarm Management

Flexible alerting ensures administrators remain informed. Supported alarm channels include:

  • Encrypted email notifications
  • SMS alerts via 3G/4G modem
  • SNMP integration with PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds
  • HTTPS-based secure communication
  • Custom escalation policies for SLA compliance

Technical Platform

Based on robust Linux OS, the 5E offers:

  • i.MX25 ARM processor
  • 128 MB NAND flash + SD slot (16 GB)
  • Operating range –35 °C to +55 °C
  • SNMP v1/v2/v3, Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT/MQTTS
  • SSL/HTTPS for secure communication
  • Optional GSM/LTE modules for mobile alerts
  • Highly efficient operation at only ~1 Watt

Visual Surveillance & Event Display

A key feature is support for up to four IP cameras, combining sensor monitoring with video. With map-based alarm overlays, administrators can pinpoint events within building layouts visually, linking values with video evidence for maximum reliability.

Scalability

With E-Sensor8 and E-opto16 modules, up to 500 sensors are supported. RS485 allows integration of modules up to 300 m away, extending monitoring to distributed infrastructures across campus sites or remote facilities.

Application Scenarios

  • Server room monitoring – environmental & security control
  • Data center monitoring – combined sensors, video, access
  • Facility management – integration of building tech
  • Industrial sites – process and safety monitoring
  • Telecom & remote sites with GSM alert integration

Conclusion

The AKCP securityProbe 5E is a next-generation monitoring platform combining IT infrastructure, physical security, and facility management. With broad sensor options, powerful alarms, video surveillance integration, and scalable expansion, it delivers a future-proof monitoring solution for critical environments.

AKCP securityProbe 5ESVA

AKCP securityProbe 5ESVA
The AKCP securityProbe 5E is equipped with a Linux operating system and an AKCP i.MX25 CPU with 128 MB NAND flash memory. The monitoring system supports an HC SD memory card with up to 16GB capacity to provide larger storage capacity. This network monitoring system is TCP/IP compliant and runs with a lighttpd web server including HTTPS (SSL), Bash, Perl, Telnet, PHP, e-mail, and Nagios.

The alarm server can simultaneously display images from a maximum of four surveillance cameras in multiple sizes (up to 640x480 pixel resolution). AKCP surveillance cameras are used for professional security monitoring and with CCTV surveillance systems. An integrated pan-tilt controller allows full control of the pan-tilt dome cameras using the industry-standard Pelco D-Bus via the 4x PTZ controller ports.
