Integration with HW group Systems

The Spider is optimized for HW group Poseidon2 and Poseidon series devices. Up to four Spider units can be connected to a Poseidon2 4002 or Poseidon 2250. 

Combined with S‑Hubs, large‑scale sensor networks can be deployed easily. 

All alarms and sensor data are transmitted in real time via LAN, SNMP, GSM, or Modbus/TCP. 

This enables centralized monitoring and alert management across complex systems.

Using the free HWg‑PDMS software, recorded data can be stored and analyzed with Excel report export options. Cloud‑based visualization via the SensDesk portal offers remote access through Android and iOS apps — ideal for distributed infrastructure management.

Installation and Setup

1. Connect the Spider to the RS‑485 port of the Poseidon device using an RJ45 cable.
2. Attach up to four sensors or dry contacts to the RJ11 ports.
3. Connect multiple Spiders via Daisy‑Chain (RJ45) if needed.
4. Set the jumper to “LAST” on the final unit and “MIDDLE” on all preceding units.
5. Use DIP switches to assign a unique device address to each unit.
6. Optionally connect an external 12 V adapter when powering multiple devices in sequence.
7. Configure sensor inputs from the Poseidon web interface or via HWg‑PDMS software.
