The RS232 Line Driver Set Industry from Wiesemann & Theis enables secure transmission of RS232 data over distances of up to 1200 meters. With 1 kV DC isolation voltage, integrated surge protection, and robust interface technology, it safeguards connected devices against potential shifts and electromagnetic interference—ideal for use in Industry 4.0, automation, and control systems.

By converting RS232 to RS422 and back, even long distances can be bridged reliably without interference. Transparent signal transmission without configuration effort makes integration into existing systems exceptionally easy.

Galvanic isolation and potential protection

During long-distance data transmission, even small potential differences (from 7 V) can lead to transmission errors. Differences exceeding 30 V can permanently damage interface components. The RS232 Line Driver Set provides 1 kV DC galvanic isolation between ports, offering reliable protection against these hazards.

The integrated surge protection prevents damage from voltage spikes that may occur due to:

Each of the two supplied converters features:

Power supply and energy efficiency

External power is supplied via a galvanically isolated screw terminal (12–24 V AC/DC). This separation prevents equalizing currents through the power input and increases overall operational safety.
