Yes, it can. AKCP deliberately designed the cold device plug to require slight force to connect it to the external power supply in order to ensure a reliable and permanent connection. Please note the notice on AKCP power supplies.

  • I need a new power supply for my AKCP monitoring device

You can order spare parts for AKCP sensorProbe and securityProbe alarm servers from Didactum®. Please provide the model number of your AKCP monitoring hardware as well as the country-specific version of your power supply.   • My AKCP monitoring product purchased from Didactum is defective. What is the procedure?

On our AKCP support page, you will find instructions on how to proceed in case of a defect. Important: before returning your sensorProbe2 or securityProbe, always request the RMA form from Didactum! AKCP customers with a valid support contract should contact the phone numbers listed in the contract.

  • I want to retrofit my data center with AKCP Data Center Security products but I am not sure which monitoring solutions suit my needs.

  • I have a sensorProbe2/8 with older firmware. When upgrading to the latest firmware, I get an error message from IPSET "Can't Get Firmware-Version".

Your sensorProbe2/8 has not been updated for a long time. To install the current firmware, you must perform intermediate steps. Depending on your SP2/8 firmware, you should first install:

Firmware 371, and then

Firmware 398

Both older firmware versions are available by request via email.

  • What initialization string do I need to send SMS with a securityProbe 5E and the GSM/GPRS modem?

Each modem has a different initialization string. Please call us or send us an email.

  • On the back of my sensorProbe8-X60 there is a grounding terminal. Do I need to additionally ground my rack monitoring system installed in the server cabinet?

If the sensorProbe8-X60 rack monitoring system is mounted in a metal server cabinet with the original rack mount kit, grounding is achieved via the chassis ground of the rack. As long as the device is installed in a grounded rack, no additional grounding is required. Otherwise, connect a grounding cable to the grounding terminal of the sensorProbe8-X60. For grounding, consult a qualified electrician.

  • Our purchasing department requires a WEEE registration number for the AKCP monitoring hardware. Where can I get this?

The WEEE registration number is provided for AKCP products by the official AKCP importer Didactum Security GmbH.

Note: If you obtained your AKCP sensorProbe or securityProbe monitoring hardware or AKCP sensors from another supplier than Didactum Ltd. Germany, please request the WEEE registration number from your supplier/dealer.
