AKCP sensorProbeX+ SPX4-X10 – Modular monitoring platform for comprehensive IT security

AKCP sensorProbeX+ SPX4-X10

The AKCP sensorProbeX+ SPX4-X10 is a modular and advanced monitoring platform designed for server room monitoring, data center supervision, and industrial environments. Its focus is on comprehensive IT infrastructure monitoring, covering classic parameters such as temperature and humidity while adding early water leakage detection. Leaks in raised floors or within racks pose major risks. With flexible water leakage sensors, rope detection systems, and dry contacts, the SPX4-X10 provides a solution that identifies risks before outages or damages occur.

The platform is fully IP-based and supports standards like SNMP monitoring (V1/V2/V3), MQTT monitoring, HTTPS, and Rsyslog. This allows seamless integration into modern IT and facility management structures. Its modular design ensures users can adapt and scale the SPX4-X10 to meet individual requirements with expansion modules.

Modular Design for Flexibility

The SPX4-X10 starts with four RJ45 sensor ports in its base version. Expansion modules such as E-Sensor8 or Dry Contact units can be added easily, enabling use in both small IT setups and large enterprise installations. Alongside the sensor ports, it also provides I/O capabilities including dry contacts, relays for external control, and mini-UPS modules for added resilience.

Precise Water Leakage Detection

A major advantage of the SPX4-X10 lies in its leakage detection capabilities. Different AKCP water sensors enable monitoring of key points like raised floors, cooling loops, or near racks. Rope-style leak detection cables allow large-scale monitoring with exact leak localization. This saves administrators valuable time in identifying and resolving issues, boosting efficiency and infrastructure safety.

Comprehensive IT Environmental Monitoring

Beyond leak detection, the SPX4-X10 integrates multiple sensors for environmental and security monitoring:

  • Temperature and humidity sensors – prevention of overheating and condensation
  • Airflow sensors – ensuring efficient rack cooling
  • Smoke sensors – early fire detection
  • Power sensors – AC/DC monitoring for energy optimization
  • Security sensors – door contacts, glass break detectors, motion sensors

This all-in-one solution provides complete IT environment monitoring that goes far beyond standard systems.

Alarm Management and Escalation

The SPX4-X10 delivers a sophisticated alerting system. When thresholds are exceeded, notification options include:

  • SNMP traps for monitoring tools such as Nagios, PRTG, check_MK
  • E-mail alerts via SMTP/SMTPS
  • SMS notifications through GSM/4G modules
  • HTTPS push for cloud integration

Escalation chains ensure redundant delivery to prevent missed alerts, safeguarding 24/7 infrastructure operations.

Facility Management Integration

With dry contact inputs/outputs, the SPX4-X10 integrates directly into building and security systems. HVAC, fire alarms, and backup generators can be monitored and controlled. Automated safety actions, such as shutting down servers or closing valves upon a leak, transform this unit into a proactive facility management monitoring solution.

Installation and Operation

The SPX4-X10 can be mounted flexibly in 19” racks (1U or 0U), on walls, or DIN rails in cabinets. With plug-and-play RJ45 sensors and AutoSense configuration, setup is simplified, reducing installation effort. Its very low power consumption makes it efficient and suitable for large-scale or compact installations alike.

With high MTBF and strong security features, the SPX4-X10 is a future-proof monitoring platform. It integrates seamlessly into any data center monitoring solution, ensuring maximum reliability, precise detection, and scalable architecture for long-term IT protection.
