HW-group WLD2 Water Detector – innovative area monitoring for maximum security

HW-group WLD2 Waterdetektor

Water leaks are among the biggest risks in sensitive environments such as server rooms, data centers, and industrial plants. Unlike power outages, water ingress often causes irreversible damage to IT, equipment, and infrastructure. The HW-group WLD2 is a professional leak detector that provides 2D detection along the full length of its connected sensing cable, creating a reliable early-warning system for critical infrastructures.

2D Detection Across Entire Cables

In contrast to traditional point sensors, the WLD2 monitors every centimeter of its connected Type A sensing cables. Liquids such as water, condensate, or glycol are detected along the full cable length, ensuring complete coverage. The system also alerts on cable breaks or faults, creating an additional protection layer.

Four Independent Monitoring Zones

The WLD2 supports up to four separate zones, each handling up to 85 m of sensing cable. With prolong cables, the reach extends up to 185 m per zone. This allows precise leak location, enabling focused interventions and reduced downtime risks.

Network-ready & Flexible Integration

The detector connects via LAN or WLAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and supports PoE for simple power supply. It integrates seamlessly into the SensDesk cloud and other HW-group monitoring ecosystems. Alerts are distributed instantly via:

  • Email notifications
  • SNMP traps for network monitoring systems
  • SMS/voice alerts via external gateways
  • Box-2-Box communication with other HWg devices

Type A Sensing Cables

The heart of the WLD2 system. Available in 2 m, 10 m, 50 m, or 85 m lengths. With specialized fabric coating, they react quickly to liquids. After drying, they are reusable, distinguishing HW-group solutions from single-use competitors.

Variants

  • WLD2 Base Set: LAN/WLAN, PoE, supports four zones, cloud-ready
  • WLD2 Complete Set: Includes PSU, 2 m connection cable, ready-to-use

The HW-group WLD2 is a flexible, scalable, and precise water leak detection solution for critical infrastructures. With multi-zone support, 2D detection, reusable sensing cables, and full cloud integration, it provides the highest level of prevention and long-term cost efficiency for IT, industrial, and building environments.

WLD2: 4 Zone Water Leak Detector with LAN / WiFi

WLD2: 4 Zone Water Leak Detector with LAN / WiFi
The WLD2 from HW group is a professional water leak detector designed specifically for use in sensitive and critical environments such as data centers, industrial facilities, archives, museums, or server rooms.

Each zone can be equipped with its own sensor cable up to 85 meters in length. With extension cables, each zone can be expanded to a total length of up to 185 m. The separated zones allow precise leak localization and targeted alerts.
