HW-group Perseus Monitoring 140 – Powerful LAN-based IoT monitoring

HW-group Perseus Monitoring 140

The HW-group Perseus Monitoring 140 is a LAN-based monitoring platform for critical infrastructures. Designed for IT, data centers, industry, and facility management, it supports up to 1000 monitored variables, making it a scalable and future-ready solution for IoT and process security.

With 4 × RJ11 ports (1-Wire UNI sensors), RS-485 Modbus/RTU, and multiple digital inputs, it integrates temperature, humidity, CO₂, power, door contacts, smoke detectors, and more into one central system. Features such as Lua scripting, virtual sensor aggregation, and scheduling allow highly customizable monitoring setups.

Key Strengths

  • Supports temperature, humidity, voltage, current, CO₂, VOC, light, and more
  • 4 dry-contact inputs for doors, alarms, or detectors
  • 2 digital outputs for relay or system control
  • RS-485 Modbus/RTU interface for industrial meters
  • Up to 1000 monitored variables simultaneously
  • Datalogger with HWg-PDMS analysis and Excel export
  • Alarming via email, SNMP trap, SMS/voice (with gateway)
  • Virtual Meters API for LAN device data aggregation
  • Secure protocols: HTTPS, Radius (802.1X), SNMPv3, IPv6

IoT & SCADA Integration

Supporting SNMPv3, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, and XML, the Perseus easily integrates with SCADA platforms, IoT solutions, and NMS systems. Its unique Meters API consolidates data from LAN devices like STE2 or UPS meters, turning it into a monitoring hub for Industry 4.0 and IoT scenarios.

Data Logging & Analysis

The integrated datalogger permanently stores events, which can be analyzed through HWg-PDMS and exported to Excel. This ensures compliance reporting, trend analysis, and audit readiness.

Alarm & Notification

Alerts are triggered instantly for threshold breaches or status changes. Options include:

  • Email alerts with full status
  • SNMP traps for management systems
  • SMS/voice alerts via external gateway
  • Eskalation and reminder functions for SLA compliance

Use Cases

  • Data centers – climate, door contacts, and IT security
  • Building management – HVAC, energy metering, system control
  • Industrial sites – machine states, current and voltage monitoring
  • Pharma & food – HACCP-compliant condition monitoring
  • Telecom – backup power and environmental monitoring

Cloud & Mobile

Integrated with SensDesk Technology and HWg-Cloud, the system supports centralized alarm handling, user management, reporting, and graphs. The HWg Monitor app (iOS/Android) provides mobile monitoring, widgets, and real-time notifications.

Variants

  • Perseus Monitoring 140: Base version for custom projects
  • Perseus Monitoring 140 TSet: Starter kit with 3 m IP67 temperature sensor & PSU
