Success Story AKCP sensorProbe2 Alarmsystem
Case Study: Precise Monitoring with AKCP sensorProbe2
A leading research institute was looking for a reliable method to monitor critical environmental values in a sensitive telescope facility. The goal was to detect temperature and humidity fluctuations at an early stage and prevent damage caused by condensation or quality losses during observations.
The choice was the AKCP sensorProbe2 alarm system. In combination with the dual sensor AK-THS00, temperature and humidity can be measured precisely. The recorded data is documented in real time, graphically processed, and is accessible via web interface at any time. This allows the institute to respond quickly to changing conditions.
Especially in the critical range of 80 to 100% humidity, the system provides valuable services: before condensation forms on the mirror surface, an automatic warning message is triggered. As a result, the sensitive equipment remains optimally protected.
Thanks to its compact design, the sensorProbe2 could be installed directly on the dome wall. In combination with additional sensors, even the risk of “dome seeing” can be reduced by visualizing temperature differences between the dome room and the telescope structure.
The result: A reliable, scalable, and low-maintenance monitoring solution that provides long-term support for research and education.
The solution: With the AKCP sensorProbe2 alarm system offered by the Münster-based company Didactum®, the Institute of Astrophysics at the Georg August University of Göttingen receives precise monitoring of the temperature and humidity of the telescope and the telescope dome.
